Our team of DTP Experts and Project Managers will support you at every step of your translation project.

PRE-TRANSLATION DTP

We will take care of checking and preparing your files for translation in any CAT tool.

This involves extraction of non-editable texts, correct segmentation issues or re-create a source file when your client cannot get a hold of the original file format, so they need us to recreate the layout of the PDF as much as possible in an editable format, usually InDesign or Word.

Files should be recreated using proper structure and segmentation. Non-editable files that will be re-created with help of an OCR, need to be carefully checked afterwards as the result might contain errors and corrupted characters etc..

Preparation

We remove all unnecessary elements and reformat the documents properly in order to avoid issues during and after translation.

This step is crucial for best results of Machine Translation or Computer Assisted Translations.

TEXT 
EXTRACTION

We extract the text for word count analysis, image localization, simple text translations and more.

This can be done manually or with the help of OCR software.

IMAGE TEXT 
PREPARATION

We make image text editable with the use of text boxes or by extracting the non-editable text into a bilingual table for translation purposes.

Translation 
memory creation

Take advantage of your previous translations by feeding or creating new Translation Memories.

This process is also known as Alignments.

RE-CREATION

Don't have the original source file? Don't worry! We can convert or re-create PDFs and other files into "CAT-friendly" formats for translation.

PDF to Word, PDF to InDesign and more.

The layout can also be simplified in some cases to accomplish client needs.

POST-TRANSLATION DTP

We will create appropriate translated versions of any original document, ensuring all target text displays correctly and fits properly in the available space and making that final output is readable and looks just as good as the original.

To accomplish this our DTP experts adjust many page elements such as text boxes, font size, leading, or other page elements to accommodate expansion or contraction, so that it is not only legible but also it matches the original document in terms of layout as much as possible.

It is not only a matter of making text visible in the original layout, a very important consideration when working with multilingual material is to follow the breaking rules for any specific language as each language has specific rules and peculiarities that need to be solved so it will read naturally, applying correct typesetting techniques and solutions needed for some tricky scripts.

Draft PDF

Draft PDFs help review the translations for validation purposes. This helps find translations that might need to be altered and validate them before the actual DTP process.

We follow industry-standard typesetting techniques and specialized solutions to accommodate any expansion or contraction of the translated text, followed by tackling any font compatibility issues.

To provide a polished final product that is professionally appealing, we carry out a rigorous QA process to identify any inconsistencies, ensuring that it meets our high standards for quality and accuracy.

E-learning tasks

File
preparation

We review the entire E-learning course to address any segmentation issues and ensure that it is appropriately formatted for translation. Additionally, we make any uneditable text or text embedded in images editable for translation.

TEXT EXTRACTION

The document to be translated can be provided in two formats: XLIFF and Word (.docx). XLIFF files is advisable if the course has many formatting elements such as numbered lists, bullets, custom paragraph spacing, etc.

Course DTP

The translated content will be imported into the source file and our E-learning DTP experts will carefully go through it assuring both appearance and functionality matches the source file.

DTP QA

Once the DTP process is finished, we publish the localized course and have our team proceed with a thorough QA to make sure we deliver a final product of high quality.
